A fire in Lantzville destroyed a garden shed and damaged the exterior of a home Monday.

Lantzville Volunteer Fire Department responded to the blaze at 7123 Dickinson Rd. at about 1:45 p.m. and knocked down the flames, which had completely destroyed the shed and had ignited the back wall and roof soffits of the house.

Nanaimo Fire Rescue was called to the scene to provide mutual aid with extra equipment and manpower.

No one was hurt in the fire, which appeared to have started in the garden shed. The cause of the blaze had not been determined Monday and is under investigation.
