The Regional District of Nanaimo has a new director.

Nanaimo Coun. Gord Fuller was formally named the city’s appointee to the RDN board at a council meeting Monday, filling a void left by Coun. Wendy Pratt, who resigned earlier this month.

Fuller was previously a primary alternate to the board.

Fuller said he’s ‘quite happy’ with the appointment. On what he hopes to contribute or looks forward to doing, he said until he gets into the swing of things it’s like sitting at city council.

“When you first start, you really don’t know the processes, what you can accomplish,” he said. “Being one of seven City of Nanaimo directors, that has an impact.”
