Filling out a survey could mean winning a prize for those living in Lantzville.

The District of Lantzville has mailed out a community-wide survey to residents and property owners. The survey asks individuals a range of questions relating to community planning and water and is part of the district’s ongoing water master plan and official community plan update.

“The survey addresses the long-term vision of the community,” said Frank Limshue, the district’s community planner. “There are questions relating to future land uses not just in the Village Core but in other areas. Certainly that will set the ton for us to start setting policies and guidelines moving forward.”

The district has been working on the creation of a water master plan and updating their official community plan for months. They’ve hired Lanarc Consultants, who have held numerous public workshops and kitchen table meetings.

Limshue said the surveys are just another step and way to engage the community. He said it’s important for everyone to complete and return the surveys as it will provide Lanarc and the district with more accurate information about the wants and needs within Lantzville.

“It is very important people don’t throw these out,” he said.

In an effort to receive completed surveys, everyone who returns a completed survey will be automatically entered to win a $100 gift card from either Riso Restaurant or the Lantzville Pub.

“It’s a small incentive to fill out the survey,” Limshue said.

Surveys must be mailed to the district by April 7.
