City council hopefuls will be asked the tough questions Tuesday (June 27) at an all-candidates meeting.

The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce is hosting the debate at the Beban Park social centre and is putting out a call for voters to submit their questions by Monday (June 26).

Candidates can set up tables at the venue to meet voters between 6-7 p.m. Tuesday and the debate will start at 7 p.m.

“With 13 candidates, it will be challenging to get everyone’s questions in, so we will be grouping questions into subject matters to try and ensure every candidate has a chance to answer every question and that all election issues are covered,” said Kim Smythe, chamber CEO, in a press release.

People can send their questions to info@nanaimochamber.bc.ca. Depending on time constraints, questions may also be taken from the floor and considered by scrutineers during Tuesday’s debate.

The first all-candidates meeting was held last Tuesday at the Vault Café; for an article, click here.
