Cash, cell phone stolen from south Nanaimo house while homeowner sleeps

Police are hoping the public can provide information related to a break-in that occurred at a south Nanaimo residence while the owner was asleep.

According to an unsolved crimes report from Nanaimo RCMP, the incident took place Aug. 19 between 12:30 and 7 a.m. in a house in the 200 block of Bowlsby Street. The homeowner was sleeping and awoke to find several items missing – cash and a one-year-old Samsung Galaxy cellphone.

It appears the suspect gained entry through an unlocked office window, RCMP said.
