A motor vehicle incident forced a portion of Bowen Road to be shut down this afternoon.
The incident took place shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday and involved a Mitsubishi Outlander and a Honda Civic. The two vehicles sustained front-end damage and had to be towed.
As a result, Nanaimo Fire Rescue closed the northbound lanes of Bowen Road near Beban Park and traffic was diverted for nearly an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
The female driver of the Civic was taken to hospital with injuries.
