With summer holiday season beginning, B.C. Ferries is reminding customers it has zero tolerance for consumption of drugs or alcohol.

As is the case on roads and highways, it is illegal to operate a vehicle on ferries or at terminals while intoxicated, and any customer showing up to terminals impaired will be reported to police, B.C. Ferries said in a press release.

Customers who see others consuming drugs or alcohol are encouraged to report the incident to a B.C. Ferries employee.

In the last fiscal year, B.C. Ferries said there were 127 incidents of police being called out due to suspected impaired passengers.
