Miss Andie, a two-and-a-half-year-old female Newfoundland belonging to Nanaimo Kennel Club members Doug and Cindy Savory of Ladysmith, won top honours in her breed at the 141st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York.

Miss Andie showed in the prestigious invitation-only competition Tuesday and won the Best of Opposite Sex 2017 category for her breed. Only the Top 5 dogs per breed from U.S. competitions are invited to the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
