Nanaimo RCMP hope to reunite cash with its owner

Nanaimo RCMP are holding a "significant amount" of Canadian currency, which was turned in by a Nanaimo merchant on Monday.

The money will be held by the police for 90 days, unless claimed by the lawful owner.

If not claimed, the finder may be eligible to receive it, but if after 90 days it is not claimed by either party, the money will be handed over to the City of Nanaimo and added to its general revenue account.

To claim the money, please contact the Nanaimo RCMP detachment at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2014-19421.
