Night firing exercises scheduled at military rifle range

The Department of National Defence has issued an advisory that it will hold night-time weapons firing exercises at the Nanaimo Military Rifle Range next week.

The exercises will happen June 26-27 from 5 p.m to midnight.

The range is located at the end of Lincoln Road between Nanaimo Lakes Road and Westwood Lake.

The public is reminded that unauthorized entry onto the site is prohibited.

People are also reminded not to pick up stray ammunition or explosive devices in the unlikely event they are encountered, but to call police to arrange for disposal.
