One man dead in single-vehicle crash Friday morning

RCMP are continuing their investigation into a fatal car crash that occurred on Gordon Road in Cedar and claimed the life of  a man from Nanaimo this morning.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. and involved one vehicle..

Police said the driver swerved to miss a school bus from the Snuneymuxw First Nation, lost control of his vehicle on the one lane gravel road and sustained fatal injuries when his vehicle hit a tree.

The victim's name and age is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
