Accused murderer remains in jail pending hearing
The man facing first-degree murder charges in relation to the April 30 Western Forest Products shootings will see his next court date on June 10.
Kevin Douglas Addison appeared in Nanaimo provincial court via video Tuesday. His case was adjourned for a month to allow for more disclosure, according to John Gustafson, Addison’s legal counsel.
“We’re just trying to get all the information we can right now,” Gustafson said, adding there is a lot of information coming in.
Addison faces two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder with a firearm in the shooting that caused the deaths of Michael Lunn and Fred McEachern, and injured Tony Sudar and Earl Kelly.
Addison’s next appearance will also be via video link at Nanaimo provincial court.
