Fundraiser supports mental health programs

Columbian Centre Society is  hosting its spring fundraiser gala to provide housing and psychosocial rehabilitation programs for the mentally ill and people suffering from addictions.

The society also provides educational programs, such as People First Radio and the Hearing Voices workshops.

The fourth-annual Mental Wellth Gala happens at the Grand Hotel on Rutherford Road Friday (May 9), from 6-10 p.m., featuring musical entertainment from Juno Award-winning jazz performer Phil Dwyer, with Louise Rose, Joan Wallace and The Martys.

The event also includes a three-course buffet dinner plus live and silent auctions.

Tickets are $85 and available in advance only at the Grand Hotel or Chocolaterie Bernard Callebaut in Country Club Centre. The society will issue a $35 tax receipt.
