Volunteers clean up Nanaimo's harbour

Scuba divers and non-divers alike are being invited to downtown Nanaimo for a harbour cleanup Sunday (April 27) from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Nanaimo Underwater Clean-Up 2014, a non-profit, volunteer event, will see participants will clear garbage and other sunken objects in and around the dive site area.

Organizers are expecting approximately 50 to 100 participants and there will be a barbecue and door prizes.

Registration will take place between 8 and 9 a.m. at 10 Wharf St. Anyone seeking further information can contact Xander France at xander-france@hotmail.com or 250-816-0351.
