Emergency crews tend to crash victims in an intersection near Country Club Centre on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters and paramedics tended to the drivers of two cars that collided practically head-on at the intersection of Norwell Drive and Departure Bay Road at about 3 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses at the scene said one car was turning left as the other vehicle was travelling through the intersection when the crash occurred. Both drivers, a man and a woman, were taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with injuries. Police are investigating.
