Police hope the owner will claim a BMX bike rescued from Nanaimo Harbour after port authority employees saw it being dumped in the water recently.

Police in Nanaimo hope the owner of a blue BMX bicycle will claim it.

The bike was seen being dumped in Nanaimo Harbour recently by two people who were spotted by Nanaimo Port Authority employees, who rescued the bike from the water and turned it over to the RCMP.

The suspects haven't been identified.

The bike is described as older, but in good shape.

Anyone with information about who owns the bike is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
