Mounties after dirt bike thieves
Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help to find two racing bikes stolen from a storage shed sometime between Monday and Tuesday.
The bikes were in a shed at the rear of a property in the 2300 block of Bowen Road.
Thieves broke into the shed by unscrewing the wooden base of the shed then peeling back a plywood wall.
Investigators spoke with neighbours who reported hearing two dirt bikes Tuesday morning between 3 and 3:30 a.m. racing up an alleyway that leads toward Rosstown Road.
One of the bikes is a 2010 Suzuki RMZ 250. It is black and yellow and bears the decals ‘777’ and ‘Brandon Williams.’ The second bike, a 2010 Yamaha YZ 250, is white and yellow and has the same decals.
The bikes are valued at about $10,000 each.
Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Const. Brett Squire of the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345. People can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go online at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.
