VIU students receive degrees

A total of 218 Vancouver Island University graduates will receive degrees at two separate daytime convocation ceremonies at the Port Theatre on Monday and Tuesday (Jan. 28-29) at 2:30 p.m.

The ceremony includes presentations of an honorary doctorate of letters to Canadian artist Gordon Smith Appelbe and alumni horizon award to Lynne Burns, bachelor of science graduate. The convocation program is available online at www.viu.ca/convocation. Friends and family from around the world can watch the ceremonies live at www.viu.ca/convocation/live.
