Garbage collection schedules rolling out

Nanaimo households receiving city curbside service should receive new garbage, recycling and green bin collection schedule by Dec. 21.

Householders who don’t receive their 2013 schedule by that date can call Public Works at 250-758-5222 or download a new calendar online at www.nanaimo.ca by clicking on ‘Residents’ and selecting ‘Garbage and Recycling.’ Follow the instructions to obtain a schedule.

Garbage, recycling and green bin collection days advance by one day after each statutory holiday.

To avoid missed picked-ups, residents should check their schedules and ensure garbage, recyclables and green bin food and kitchen waste are at the curb by 8 a.m. on their scheduled collection day.
