Nanaimo embarks on cultural plan
Cultural vitality was one of the four pillars recently recognized in the city's new corporate strategic plan.
As a result, a new cultural plan is being developed by city staff with assistance from the cultural planning technical team, made up of professional cultural managers from a variety of local cultural organizations, to strengthen Nanaimo's cultural assets and resources.
Members of the community will be asked to participate in an online survey as part of the process toward making Nanaimo a more vibrant and creative city.
The plan is currently in the visioning and community engagement phase which will help identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Over the winter the plan will be prepared and is expected to be adopted in the spring.
The online survey only takes a few minutes and can be found at www.surveymonkey.com/s/NanaimoVisionForCulture.
