Rooming house gets council's OK
Nanaimo city council approved a 12-unit rooming house at 427 Milton St. Monday night.
The applicant, Paul Gogo, owns the existing single family dwelling on the property, and has agreed to enter a Good Neighbour agreement if necessary.
The city's housing agreement requires Gogo to maintain the exterior of the property to adequate standards and designate a responsible manager who will live on site.
A zoning bylaw, adopted in 2009, was created to increase affordable housing options in traditional neighbourhoods.
