Coroner identifies commercial diving victim
The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a commercial diving incident on the weekend.
Robert Wayne Antifave, 51, of Lantzville, died Saturday while diving commercially for geoducks from a boat off Haida Gwaii.
Crew aboard the boat noticed Antifave was in medical distress when he ascended from a dive.
He was evacuated by air to Queen Charlotte Hospital, but could not be resuscitated.
The B.C. Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC are continuing their investigations into his death.
Antifave's family has been notified.
