Body discovered on Sugarloaf Mountain
Two tourists climbing Sugarloaf Mountain above Departure Bay stumbled upon a disturbing sight when they discovered a body on the weekend.
Police said the body of a woman, 23, who appears to have taken her own life, was discovered Saturday at about 8 a.m.
Const. Gary O'Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman, said police do not believe foul play was a factor in the death and the investigation was turned over to the B.C. Coroners Service.
In consideration of the victim's family, police are not releasing further information.
