Two suspects arrested for three robberies

Two men have been arrested for allegedly committing three armed robberies of the 7-Eleven convenience store on Terminal Avenue in central Nanaimo.

The holdups happened April 24, May 2, and most recently, on June 17.

In each case a knife was used and cash and cigarettes were taken.

No one was injured during any of the robberies.

One suspect, 27, was arrested Wednesday at an apartment in the 600 block of Townsite Road by Nanaimo RCMP Crime Reduction Unit members.

The second suspect, 24, was arrested at his home on Cedar Road Thursday afternoon.

Both men were held in custody to appear before a Nanaimo Provincial Court Judge Friday to each face recommended charges of three counts of armed robbery.
