Nanaimo Mounties arrest sex assault suspect in Ladysmith

Nanaimo RCMP arrested a man wanted for sexual assault in Alberta Monday.

Police arrested John Lukan, 39, without incident, at about noon, outside his Ladysmith workplace.

Mounties were working on information they received from police in Edmonton last week that Lukan was living in Ladysmith.

He was wanted for an alleged sexual assault that occurred in November 2010.

Lukan appeared in Nanaimo provincial court today and will be transported back to Alberta.
