Woman assaulted and robbed in Nanaimo
Police are searching for man who assaulted and robbed a woman in Nanaimo early Tuesday.
The incident happened at about 3:15 a.m.
A 19-year-old woman was walking on Highland Boulevard when a man allegedly punched her in the face and demanded her valuables.
After the victim handed over some items, her assailant fled west on the Island Highway.
The suspect is described as a First Nations male in his early 20s, about 5'3", with a pock-marked face. He was wearing a black sweater and track pants.
