Police searching for missing Nanaimo teen
Nanaimo Mounties are asking the public to help find a 15-year-old girl who has not been seen since late Tuesday.
Amanda Cabral, who attends Woodlands Secondary School, had a disagreement with her parents at about 11 p.m. and then left her home on Keen Place.
She has not returned home, did not attend classes Wednesday and her friends told police they have not heard from her.
RCMP school liaison officers and general duty members are investigating her disappearance.
Cabral is 5' 2", weighs 126 pounds and has olive-coloured skin. She wears her hair long and recently had it dyed purple. She was last seen wearing a blouse and jean shorts.
Const. Gary O'Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman said Cabral's family told police running away is totally out of character for her. They are concerned and hoping for any information that will help find her.
