$500,000-winning ticket sold in Nanaimo

Someone in Nanaimo is half a million dollars richer today.

Three winning tickets were sold in the Lotto 6/49 draw on Aug. 3, with an Extra ticket matching all four numbers (62 74 77 96) sold in Nanaimo.

A single ticket in Richmond picked up the largest prize of $7 million, while a third ticket sold in Surrey won $260,000.

Players have one year from the draw date printed on the ticket to claim prizes.

Lotto 6/49 is a nation-wide draw played Wednesdays and Saturdays after 6 p.m. The next draw is estimated at $7 million.
