City planning 10th anniversary of aquatic centre

A decade ago, many members of the aquatic staff with the City of Nanaimo were busy getting ready for the grand opening of the then-new Nanaimo Aquatic Centre.

They’re now busy getting ready for the 10-year anniversary celebration on Saturday (June 4). Everyone is invited to the open house between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

There are no formal ceremonies planned, but lots of activities and events throughout the day.

Activities planned include: aqua-fit sessions, lessons, stroke correction, spring board demonstrations, free weight room orientation, training tips, informational displays, a dunk tank, life guard rodeo and more. Cake and refreshments will be served.
