Nanaimo 7-Eleven robbed on weekend
Nanaimo Mounties are hunting for two men who demanded cigarettes instead of cash when they robbed a Nanaimo 7-Eleven store on the weekend.
The men, wearing balaclavas and gloves to cover their faces and hands, entered the Bowen Road 7-Eleven at about 3 a.m. Saturday. They approached the clerk, brandished a knife and demanded cigarettes.
The suspects filled bags with an undisclosed number of cigarette packs and fled.
Police responded with a tracking dog, but were unable to track down the culprits.
Police report no one was injured in the robbery.
One suspect was wearing a navy blue lumberjack-style shirt, a black T-shirt, grey pants and grey gloves.
The second suspect wore a purple American Eagle pullover, black cargo pants, black balaclava and grey gloves.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.nanaimocrimestoppers.com.
