Nanaimoities can let loose and party aboard a massive yacht next month.

Where It’s At Entertainment will be hosting a party aboard a three-deck, 127-foot yacht named Queen of Diamonds on Aug. 18.

The event features three decks of live performances by a wealth of artists including Sirreal, Konfidential, Kavawon, Rrkade, B3LOW and High Priority, and a light dinner will be served onboard. There will also be space for dancing and plenty of booze.

Chelsea Gorbins, event organizer and Where It’s At Entertainment owner, said the yacht has a capacity for more than 400 people and each deck will be dedicated to a different genre of music. She said a booze cruise type of event hasn’t taken place in Nanaimo for nearly a decade.

“It’s been a really long time,” she said.

Queen of Diamonds will be docked along the pier at the end of 151 Promenade Drive. Individuals will begin boarding at 8 p.m. and the ship will depart at 8:30 p.m., sail around the Nanaimo harbour and return at 12:30 a.m.

Gorbins has been organizing these types of events since 2008 in Vancouver and has now branched out to different cities including Nanaimo, Victoria and Toronto. She said yacht parties are a great way to provide individuals with a different type of entertainment and fun than they’re normally used to experiencing in B.C.

“The first time I organized a yacht party it was just to do something different,” she said. “The more I did it, I realized there are not a lot of different fun things for people to do in the summertime. Every one we do always sells out.”

Tickets start at $65 and can be purchased at The Edge Barber Shop in Nanaimo or by visiting www.myshowpass.com/where-its-at-party-cruise-nanaimo or by calling 250-714-8848. The event is 19 plus and two pieces of government ID are required. For more information, visit www.whereitsatent.com. There is also an after party at Koncept Nightclub at 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 19.
