The smooth sound of jazz music awaits diners at the Lighthouse Bistro.

Vocalist Jennifer Scott performs with bassist Rene Worst and drummer Hans Verhoeven on Friday (May 19) at 7:30 p.m. Scott, a Vancouver-born singer and pianist specializes in jazz, blues and world music. She has performed with Gene Bertoncini, Clark Terry, Paul Horn and others.

The Nanaimo performance is part of her Vancouver Island tour. She also performs with Worst on Gabriola Island at the Roxy May 24 at 7:30 p.m.

Worst has been performing as a professional bassist since 1971. He is one of the founding members of the fusion band Skywalk.

Verhoeven received a bachelor of music from McGill University and has accompanied musicians such as Oscar Stagnaro, Brandi Disterheft and Hugh Fraser.
