A filmmaker needs votes to help move her animated film Witch Problems? to the top spot in Telus’ StoryHive competition.

Carla Mah, who was born and raised in Nanaimo, co-produced the film with Alexandra Marriott and Rosaura Lezama. Mah is also a voice actor and writer for the film.

“We built our team from the ground up, supporting both women and people of colour, which is something that seems to be sparse in the animation world,” said Mah in an e-mail. “More than half our team is female and our diversity is off the charts.”

Witch Problems? is about Sage, a socially awkward Chinese-Canadian witch with anxiety issues, who dreams about becoming a film director.

People can vote for the animated short film until Friday (June 9) at noon. No registration to vote is required.

To vote for the film, please visit www.storyhive.com/project/show/id/1792.
