Vancouver Island University to host jazz concerts

Vancouver Island University music students will be showcasing their talents during an upcoming year-end fall concert.

Students perform on Tuesday (Nov. 29) and Wednesday (Nov. 30) at 7:30 p.m. at Malaspina Theatre.

The Tuesday night performance features guest jazz artist Johannes Wallmann. Wallmann was born in Münster, Germany but grew up on Vancouver Island. He attended the Berklee College of Music and New York University.

Tickets for the Tuesday night performance are $15 at the door.

The Wednesday night performance is by donation and features VIU’s jazz and concert choirs.

Wallmann is also giving free public workshops today from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in building 320 room 105 and on Tuesday from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at Malaspina Theatre.
