Nanaimo artists garner Western Canadian Music Award nominations

Three artists with Nanaimo connections are up for Western Canadian Music and Industry Awards.

Blues artist David Gogo has been nominated for the Blues Artists of the Year award. He is up against David Vest, Debra Power, Harpdog Brown & The Travelin' Blues Show, and Romi Myers.

Nanaimo's Bobs & Lolo and Gabriola's The Kerplunks are competing against each other in the Children's Artist of the Year award category. Other artists in the category include Hilary Grist, Raffi, and Nadia Gaudet and Jason Burnstick.

Winners will be announced Oct. 13 in Regina, Sask.
