The Nanaimo Blues Society is hosting a fundraiser in support of its summertime festival.

The night of cool rhythms and rocking notes features Rick ‘All Night’ Becker and special guest Luv Train.

The event, Courtin’ the January Blues, happens Thursday (Jan. 17), 6 p.m., at The Courts. Admission is $20 and includes pasta, salad and a beverage.

The Summertime Blues Festival is scheduled for Aug. 23-25. Last year’s event offered two days of entertainment and featured more than 12 acts from Vancouver Island including the Nanaimo Blues All-Stars, Tidewater and the Glen Foster Group.
