Variety night showcases young Vancouver Island talent

Students showcase their talents Friday (Oct. 26) during Dover Bay Secondary School’s Variety Night.

The annual event features comedy skits, musical acts, dance and more.

Hosts Nicholas Croome and Michael Bamford will introduce the acts.

The talent acts include Kiana Smith’s tap number, a B.C. champion who recently received a scholarship to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles;  Mikaila Tombe, winner of the Island Star Search; Melissa Kahan’s musical theatre piece and the Dover Bay’s Senior Concert Band performance.

People looking for laughs can enjoy comedy sketches based off of viral Youtube videos.

Variety night starts at 7 p.m. in the school’s multipurpose room.

Tickets for the showcase are $7 at the door. People are advised to come early to be assured seats.
