Highland dancers tested

Four students from Nanaimo’s Brigadoon Dance Academy competed in a scholarship competition, with one earning top marks.

Jillian Peacock won gold for her senior dance solo at the British Association of Teachers of Dancing Sadie Simpson Scholarship Competition in Chicago, Ill. She finished third overall in the class.

Joining Peacock were Zoya Lehrke, Fallon Benson and Caileigh Clark, nominated for the scholarship class based on their marks on the spring 2011 theory exams.

Kaileigh Ainsworth, Emma Penley and Emily White were also nominated but could not attend.
