Some of Nanaimo’s most talented young performers share the stage for A Cool Yule Christmas concert.

Jayden Holman, Julie Lennert and Mikaila Tombe will be accompanied by a five-piece band, led by Nico Rhodes and featuring bassist Marisha Devoin and trumpet player Marty Shepard, performing festive hits from all musical genres.

Singer-actor Joëlle Rabu will host the evening, which also features the award-winning singer-songwriter Alexandria Maillot.

In 2009, Maillot was chosen for the Peak Performance project and since then earned accolades in Europe for her songwriting, specifically the song Revolution.

While Maillot records and performs in Vancouver, she also pursues a career in film and television, earning her first role in Little Red Riding Hood, a movie produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s company.

A Cool Yule Christmas concert is open to the whole family and takes place Monday (Dec. 12) at Headliners, next to Mrs. Riches on Fraser Street. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Admission is by donation of $3 or more, plus an item of non-perishable food for the Loaves and Fishes Community Food Bank.
