Peters paints for charity

An original painting by Fred Peters will go up for auction before it’s finished.

Peters will complete an acrylic painting Nov. 16, 6-9 p.m., at the Yellowbird Arts Gallery at Country Club Centre.

The painting will go up for silent auction that night to help raise money for the Nanaimo and Area Land Trust and the Salvation Army Christmas food drive.

The silent auction will continue until Dec. 2 at the gallery, with all money raised going to the land trust. During the Nov. 16 event, people are asked to bring non-perishable food items or a cash donation for the Salvation Army.

All donors will be entered into a draw to win a framed print by Peters.

A new collection of works by Peters will be on display and for sale in the gallery until the end of the month.

For more information, please call the gallery at 758-2480.
