Ball hockey players faced-off in the Old City Quarter in February to help raise money for a Nanaimo charity.

The Selby Cup brought together eight teams representing businesses, organizations and groups of friends to raise more than $2,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Vancouver Island.

Teams of four to eight players took to the street in front of the Taphouse restaurant to determine the top two teams to advanced to the finals, played at Rogers Hometown Hockey at Maffeo Sutton Park in February.

Team participation fees and partial proceeds from Taphouse Restaurant’s lunch special were all donated to the Boys & Girls Club.
