Nanaimo parks and rec is seeking community members to showcase their skills as an instructor for fall and winter programs.

Parks and rec is accepting proposal forms for a variety of areas, including dance, cooking, language, arts and crafts, music, outdoor recreation or any other ideas residents might have.

Programs may be in any category and for any age group, but applicants are encouraged to review the current activity guide to avoid duplication of currently scheduled classes. Applicants should also review the frequently asked questions sheet before completing the application form.

Proposals are accepted year-round, but are only evaluated twice per year. The deadline for inclusion in the upcoming selection meeting is April 28. Include a current resume and copies of relevant awards and certifications with the application form.

“We have really noticed an increase in diverse and creative program ideas through the past two evaluation cycles, and that is exciting,” said Grace Bell, recreation coordinator with parks and rec. “The depth of experience and talent among our community members is outstanding and we are lucky that so many of them choose to share their talent with the community. “
