Central Vancouver Island Multicultural Society was recognized for its contribution to the central Island region with a B.C. Career Development Association award.

The association, which held its annual conference in Vancouver last month, acknowledges the extraordinary accomplishments of those working in B.C.’s career development sector and awarded the Nanaimo-based multicultural society the Career Development Organization of the Year award.

The awards committee identified the wide range of services delivered by the society as a significant asset to central Island region. The society provides settlement support, language classes, daycare, the HIPPY program, and a variety of innovative employment initiatives to newcomers to Canada.
