Rotary Clubs in Nanaimo and Lantzville are holding a donation drive this weekend to benefit victims of B.C.’s wildfires.

In partnership with Disaster Aid Canada, Ryler and Big Steel Box, the five Rotary clubs will hold the three-day drive at Nanaimo North Town Centre from Saturday to Monday (July 29-31), 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, according to a press release.

A six-metre box from Big Steel Box will be situated at the Lowe’s parking lot for the donations.

Items such as baby formula, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, men’s clothing, dental floss, face cloths and towels, eye drops, toilet paper, tents, food (especially proteins), bottled water, eye drops, diapers, gas cards, hygiene products, new socks and underwear and pet supplies are especially in demand.

Rotarians will sort the items and the container will be transported to Kamloops to aid victims.

Online donations can be made by searching for Disaster Aid Canada at www.canadahelps.org.
