A donation of wheelchairs will help move patients around and about at the hospital.

Nanaimo Regional General Hospital received a donation of 22 Staxi wheelchairs from the Nanaimo Hospital Auxiliary this spring. The wheelchairs have cushions, telescoping IV poles and oxygen holders and are “are much needed for transporting patients onsite,” according to a press release.

The total cost of the wheelchairs was $44,000, part of a $474,000 donation toward patient care from the auxiliary to the hospital in March.
