Maude Barlow discusses water issues in Nanaimo

An advocate for water is visiting Nanaimo to talk about her latest book and the challenges facing Canada’s water supply.

Maude Barlow, national chairwoman for Council of Canadians, will discuss the issues raised in her latest book Boiling Point: Government Neglect, Corporate Abuse and Canada’s Water Crisis at Bowen Park auditorium Friday (April 7).

Boiling Point is billed as a guide for residents, election candidates, elected officials and environmental organizations which seek to protect freshwater in the province.

Council of Canadians describes itself as a social action organization, which advocates for clean water, fair trade, green energy, public health care and democracy.
