Helping hospice is in fashion

The Fashions for Compassion spring fashion show and high tea was held April 23

An event benefiting Nanaimo Community Hospice was the height of fashion this spring.

The Fashions for Compassion spring fashion show and high tea was held April 23 at the Nanaimo Curling Centre and raised $10,486 for hospice. The sold-out event attracted 200 women.

The fundraiser was organized by Karen Griffin and Connie Cyr of KC’s Boutique.

“On behalf of all our clients, volunteers and staff, I want to extend a huge thank you to Karen and Connie and to all those who attended and supported this event. Because of their generosity we can continue to provide free programs and services to our clients,” said Susan Steen, executive director of Nanaimo Community Hospice, in a press release.
