Climate change talk encourages global thinking

Nanaimo naturalists will discuss topics ranging from Vancouver Island to Antarctica and back.

The Nanaimo Naturalists’ Club is hosting a presentation by Dr. Alan Burger on Monday (June 12) called Antarctic Wildlife: Life in a Changing Environment.

Burger is a recently retired University of Victoria professor and a seabird biologist. He visits Antarctica regularly on adventure-tourism vessels. He will discuss climate change’s unexpected impacts on the Antarctic and its wildlife.

Also at the meeting, there will be discussion about reviving the Nanaimo Naturalists’ Club.

Monday’s meeting is at 7 p.m. at VIU, building 180, room 134. Anyone is welcome.
