Girl Guide cookies on sale

A sure sign of spring is the annual Cookie Drive-Thru in support of Girl Guides.

The girls will be out in force selling classic chocolate and vanilla cookies April 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wheatsheaf Field, 1865 Cedar Rd.

At the same, they are holding a food drive in support of the Loaves and Fishes Community Food Bank.

Non-perishable food items or a purchase a box of cookies to donate will be gratefully accepted.

For those who can’t make it to the drive-thru, a table will be set up at the Chase River Country Grocer April 6 from 10 a.m. to  4 p.m.

Cookie sales are the major fundraiser for Girl Guides, a not-for-profit organization that encourages adventure, friendship, leadership, and community service for girls ages  five to 17.

New girl members and leaders are always welcome.
