Ford dealership revs up for animals
A fundraising campaign by Steve Marshall Ford Lincoln on behalf of Nanaimo and District SPCA was a smooth ride for all involved.
Donating $250 from the sale of every vehicle in January, the dealership not only met its goal of $10,000, but eclipsed it by $4,000.
Leon Davis, SPCA branch manager said when word came out of the $14,000 donation, it was an emotional moment felt by the staff at both locations.
“Unbelievable. When I told the staff we had passed $10,000 there were a few tears,” he said.
Karen Ann Markmann of Steve Marshall said she hadn’t realized just what an impact the dealership could make.
“Exceeding our goal was a great moment,” she said. “I am glad this partnership was a great fit with our dealership’s other community support efforts and, more importantly, our employees’ sentiments.”
